The month began with our yearly trip to Optrafair, the UKs largest optical fair, here we spent time browsing through new frame styles and technology, checking out hi-tech machinery and drinking the free drinks! The objective of the time spent at the show is to make sure we’re up to date with all the latest developments in optics and to make sure we’re providing our patients with the best Keep an eye out for details of some exciting new frame ranges and the arrival of a fantastic new machine within the next month.

We’re delighted to be hosting a Gucci Open Day on the 27th April too which everyone is invited, with CATS celebrating its 30th year in business last year we wanted to host an event that would excite patients and staff alike. It doesn’t get much more exciting than Gucci, which has recently been announced as the number one fashion house in the world. We will be providing a glass of bubbly or bucks fizz and a raffle ticket for a Seiko watch for anyone who attends! The North West representative for Gucci will be in practice to showcase the full Ophthalmic and Sunglass collection which includes Mens and Ladies frames and with over 200 different styles this is a collection that caters to all tastes.
Frame of the month
Each month a different staff member will be selecting their favourite frame from the months new arrivals.

Do you have a particular eyewear Icon who inspires you?
Yes, my style icon is Carrie Hope Fletcher. I love the theatre and Carrie is such an inspiration when she’s on and off the stage, she is very comfortable within herself and isn’t scared to be who she wants to be. Plus her specs are amazing!
Your frame of the month?
My frame of the month has to be the new Furla Fuesca, its a show stopping frame from the Italian designer. The unusual glued acetate colour combination of the blue and tortoiseshell reminds me of an ocean view with sandy beaches at night. With the shape being slightly upswept it gives the Blue the impression of rolling waves, they’re so light and comfortable I may have to make them my next pair!
