The Coronavirus pandemic is unlike anything that I (or any of us) have seen before. We’re living through extraordinary days where the situation is changing rapidly in any given 24 hours. Anxiety is rising as some of our media report dramatically on the Virus around the world and there’s confusion around what people are expected to do in response to the latest information from the Government. As an independent health care provider, the health and well being of our patients and staff are our number one priority.
We are putting robust measures in place to ensure we have the highest clinical and hygiene standards.
We would like to reassure patients we are continuing to open during this difficult period, but given the threat we are all facing from COVID-19, we have bought in some new measures to try and combat the spread of the virus based on government and NHS advice:
-
Following government guidance, we’re asking anyone with flu-like symptoms not to visit us.
-
If you think you have an urgent eye or sight problem, but also have symptoms of
COVID-19, then call 111 for advice on how to proceed.
-
On entrance to the practice all patients must use the hand sanitiser provided.
-
All equipment within the practice is disinfected before and after every patient use, this includes the consulting room, pre-screening room and the dispensing area.
-
All spectacle frames are disinfected after every patient contact, for this to work effectively we ask all patients to be guided by our team when trying on frames.
-
The reception area is cleaned with anti-bacterial spray throughout the day, and wipes are available in the desk area.
-
We ask all patients to pay via card where possible.
-
All members of staff are being monitored continuously for any symptoms.
Throughout the coming weeks we will continue to adhere to government and NHS England advice and we will react accordingly.
Thank you for continuing to support local business and together, we will overcome this challenging time.
